REPORTS - YOUTH TEAM
Sussex County Youth League
Central Division Sunday

DOMINANT
ROBINS HAMMER SEAFORD
Hassocks
14-0 Seaford
The
Robins bounced back from their League Cup exit the
previous week at the hands of Arundel with an emphatic
victory over Seaford Town at the Beacon on Sunday.
Midfielder Adam Pattison opened the scoring in the 9th
minute with a well struck shot from just inside the
penalty area. Playing with more purpose than in recent
weeks the team were playing some entertaining flowing
football, creating chances at will with intelligent
movement off the ball from all members of the team.
Top scorer Laurence Robinson added a second and third
goal in the 16th and 30th minute to confirm the Robins
superiority in all departments. Matt Amos then went on
a goal scoring spree with a hat-trick in 10 minutes.
Seaford had no answer to the attacking prowess of
their opponents and started to loose the self
discipline with a series of bookings. Mike Goulden on
his return from injury added a seventh goal late in
the half and Michael Bates brought the Hassocks goal
tally to eight with a neatly taken headed goal. Just
before half time Seaford were reduced to 10 men when
their captain was given a straight red card for a rash
tackle on Michael Bates. The second half started much
as the first with a goal from Laurence Robinson to
complete his hat-trick in the 48th minute. An own goal
followed shortly afterwards and Seaford suffered a
further set back when reduced to nine men following
yet another yellow card offence. Nathan Miles
replacing Matt Amos then scored two further goals in
the 67th and 86th minutes, a long range effort from
Lewis Palmer and Pat Rose completed the scoring for
Hassocks. This was a very much improved Team
performance from the young Robins with everybody
firing on all cylinders against a team that had
ability but self destructed with some undisciplined
behavior. One person who deserves mention was man of
the match, wing back Logan Newington, who caused the
Seaford defence all sorts of problems all through the
game.
